MarginGuide

What else is at play?

MarginGuide was developed to assess the resection margin during oncological surgery. The device helps the surgeon reach adequate tumour resection by means of ramanspectroscopy: a technology that measures the margin around tissue. Adequate tumour resection is reached when the surgeon can maintain a margin of 5mm of healthy surrounding tissue. Without the MarginGuide, the margin is breached in most surgeries. In the case of oral cancer, this even happens in over eighty percent of cases. This may exacerbate the disease. The MarginGuide technique is valuable for the patient as well as the healthcare professional. Oncological surgeons gain access to the technology they need to perform extensive and reliable inspections quickly and ultimately perform the surgery in a successful way.
