LactApp offers a rich source of information about breastfeeding and motherhood: the app assists mothers in breastfeeding their child for the first couple of months. LactApp offers a symptom checker and the option to ask questions to lactation and maternity experts. LactApp was developed in Spain and is now being used by almost a quarter of all new Spanish mothers. All of the app’s functionalities are now available in English as well and LactApp has moved on to training medical staff to provide lactation advice. LactApp’s services can be accessed free of charge: women who used the app get to choose whether or not they want to donate. This makes the app accessible to a broad audience.
