Stratasys introduced a new 3D printer that allows users to create detailed anatomical models with drilling and incision guides. The J5 MediJet printer is able to combine multiple materials and colours and possesses a rotating build platform with a fixed print head. This maximises the reliability of the 3D printer and simplifies maintenance. The printer is also relatively small and affordable, allowing small and medium-sized hospitals to deploy the technology. Ultimately, Stratasys hopes that the printer can help other companies bring new innovations to market by enabling product demonstrations and providing models for benchmark testing.
