Bionaut Labs is developing a device with the size of a breadcrumb that physicians can inject into the spine or skull of a patient. The physician can then send the device to the right location using magnets and the aid releases just the right dose of a drug. The technique allows for more accurate drug administration, leaving the rest of the body unaffected. The goal is to administer approved medication to combat brain tumours. The idea is not completely new. But Bionaut Labs is the first company to put the idea into practice. The organisation expects to kick off clinical trials by 2023.
