Scanwell has developed a test kit an an app to reach a diagnosis with a urine sample, from home. The goal is make the opportunity to test more accessible, by allowing the patient to test themselves when it is convenient, and to prevent waiting times. The patient can order a test
kit and must apply a urine sample to the test strip. By making a scan with a mobile phone’s camera, a urinary tract infection can be diagnosed within 2 minutes. Through the app, a healthcare professional can be contacted to start the personal treatment immediately, if necessary. This way, waiting times are shortened, unnecessary healthcare expenses are avoided, and the patient can get going at home.
