reSET-O is an app for the treatment of opium addictions (developed by Pear Therapeutics, Inc.). It is a 12-week treatment based on cognitive behavioural therapy, and is used as an addition to the standard treatment of behavioural therapy and medication. The goal of reSET-O is to increase the compliance of patients by expanding the standard treatment. After the medical professional prescribes reSET-O, patients are guided through the installation of the app on their smartphone of tablet by an employee of Pear Therapeutics, Inc. During the treatment, the attending physician can keep track of the patient’s progress total hrough a dashboard. Studies show that patients who use reSET-O complete their standard treatment more often than those who don’t use the app. Te release the app to the public, Pear Therapeutics collaborated with the pharmaceutical company Novartis.
