Orion Visual Cortical Prothesis System

The Orion Visual Cortical Prosthesis System is a pair of glasses combined with an implant, which allows people with a visual impairment to see again. The glasses use a camera to convert the sight into electrical signals. These signals are sent to an implant in the skull via the sides of the glasses. The implant receives the glasses’ signals and in turn sends signals to the correct locations in the brain. The glasses allow people with visual impairments to see light and depth again. The implant is powered by the glasses. This ensures the implant doesn’t need to be replaced.
