Cuetips are not the only thing than can be analysed to determine if someone carries the COVID-19 virus: an add-on with programmed magnetic nano beads can be connected to smartphones to reveal whether someone is a carrier within 55 minutes, research shows. The nano beads transport the necessary data to an electrochemical sensor and all it takes to find out if someone is infected with COVID-19 is a small sample. According to the researchers, the benefit is that this technique does not require the smears to be analysed in a lab. In addition, this testing method is easy and user-friendly. The researchers state that this way of testing is quickly and easily to implement if necessary.
