The Hospital Hero is an app to help children undergoing a blood draw experience less stress and anxiety. Hospital Hero focuses on chronically ill children between the ages of 4 and 9 who regularly visit the hospital. With the help of gaming and augmented reality, the app offers, among other things, distraction. In this way, the child experiences less stress before, during and after treatment in the hospital. Hospital Hero will eventually be further developed and used in other treatments that children in the first and/or secondary care, further contributing to an improved patient experience.
