Hero is a pill dispensing robot, which looks somewhat like a coffee maker. It takes care of a complex medication schedule, including details on when, how and for how long a patient has to take certain pills. The device alerts through sound and visual cues. Caregivers can follow the actions of the dispenser, and whether the patient removes the medication from it, through a mobile app. Overmedication is largely a thing of the past and missed or skipped doses are quickly detected by
caregivers.
