Face2Gene is an app that can use a photograph to determine what genetic mutations an individual may conceivably have. The algorithm has been trained using a database containing images of tens of thousands of human faces. The aim is to help health care professionals in decision making about requesting genetic tests. Face2Gene now incorporates over 2000 disease syndromes, many of which are so rare that most health professionals have never seen them in their practices.
