The Doktr app gives Belgian users quick access to a physician for personal medical advice via a video or telephone meeting. The app is available in Dutch and French. Users download the app for free and sign in with ‘Itsme’, a secured identification tool. Prescriptions, intakes and video consultations with the physician all provided within the app. The physician can also refer the user to another healthcare professional and the costs are entirely covered by the Belgian health insurance system. All information, such as the consultation report and prescriptions, is stored in the app for 48 hours following the consultation. The information is also stored in the federal health portal ‘Mijngezondheid’. The aim is to provide all users with quick, efficient and valuable healthcare. The app can be used at night and during the weekend as well.
