CRISPR Kit

Mammoth Biosciences is developing a CRISPR-based at-home kit that can detect DNA of various pathogens in blood, saliva or urine specimens. It will enable consumers to identify with considerable certainty what is making them ill. An already functional prototype of the kit consists of a credit card–sized slip of paper and a smartphone application. CRISPR can deliver indications for the Zika, dengue and human papilloma viruses as well as for tuberculosis and several types of cancer.
